Comments NORTH COUNTY A benefit concert to rally support for multiple transplant patient Heidi Beard and her husband Stan Beard, longtime music minister at Calvary Lutheran Church in Solana Beach, is 4 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Hilton Del Mar, 15575 Jimmy Durante Blvd. Heidi Beard at a Mother’s Day Tea Heidi, a veteran member of the Calvary Choir, had a heart and kidney transplant in August, and community members are surprising the couple with a benefit concert. Stan is probably best known in North County for the annual Christmas concerts he led over several decades at Calvary. His scores range from Broadway tunes to sacred anthems. As musical director of “Disney on Ice,” Stan has written and directed recordings in fifteen languages. His credits include two albums, “A Gospel State of Mind” and “The Quiet of Christmas”. He is working on a third album based on the healing qualities of music, titled “Healing Hands. The entertainment lineup features Eve Selis, Mattie Mills, Amick Byrun, Leonard Tucker, Jeff and Vangie Gunn and the Beard children. Festivities start at 3 p.m. Free concert; donations appreciated.
